How to: Upgrade Access 2.0 to Access 7.0 with the Office 95 Professional CD.
Solution:
Close all the open applications, and run the Office Setup program to upgrade Access 7.0. When asked whether or not to remove Access 2.0, click 'Yes' to remove Access 2.0 from the computer.
NOTE: The following procedure assumes that Office 95 applications other than Access 7.0 are already installed.
1) Insert the Office 95 installation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
2) (Optional) Right-click on the taskbar button for an open application and select 'Close' from the shortcut menu.
3) (Optional) Repeat Step 2) for all open applications.
4) Make sure the Office shortcut bar is closed:
a) If the shortcut bar is hidden, run the mouse pointer over all four corners of the monitor screen to display it.
b) To close the shortcut bar:
1] Right-click on the title bar of the Office shortcut bar. (A menu appears.)
2] Select 'Exit' from the displayed menu.
5) Click the 'Start' button to display the Windows 'Start' menu.
6) Select 'Run...' from the Windows 'Start' menu. (The Run dialog box appears.)
7) Type the following command in the 'Open' drop-down list box:
<drive>:\SETUP.EXE
(where <drive> is the letter of the CD-ROM drive).

8) Click 'OK'. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 Setup dialog box appears.)
NOTE: If the Office Standard CD was used to installed other Office 95 applications, different setup dialog boxes will appear. If that is the case, follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
9) Click 'Add/Remove...'. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Maintenance dialog box appears.)

NOTE: If any applications are still running, a message appears recommending that these applications be closed before continuing, and lists any applications currently running. Click 'Exit Setup', close all the open applications, and restart with Step 5).
10) Select the 'Microsoft Access' check box in the 'Options' list box. (A dark or dimmed check mark appears, Microsoft Access is highlighted, and a description of the selection appears in the Description group.)

NOTE: If the 'Microsoft Access' check box appears dimmed, only certain components of Access will be installed.
11) (Optional) Customize Access:
a) Click 'Change Option...' to add or remove any Access components. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Microsoft Access dialog box appears with the Options list box containing a list of Access components.)

b) Select or clear the check boxes representing the desired components in the 'Options' list box.
NOTE: Examine the 'Space required on <drive>' box and the 'Space available on <drive>' box at the bottom of the Microsoft Office Professional 95- Microsoft Access dialog box, where <drive> is the location of the installation, to make sure there is enough space for the installation. If not enough space is available, clear the components that will not be used frequently.

c) If the selected component has sub-components and those components need to be customized:
1] Click 'Change Option...'. (The Microsoft Office - <Component> dialog box appears with the Options list box containing a list of sub-components, where <Component> is the component selected in Step 11)b).)
NOTE: If the selected component does not have sub-components, the 'Change Option...' button appears dimmed.
2] Select or clear the check boxes representing the desired sub-components in the 'Options' list box.
NOTE: Examine the 'Space required on <drive>' box and the 'Space available on <drive>' box at the bottom of the Microsoft Office Professional 95- Microsoft Access dialog box, where <drive> is the location of the installation, to make sure there is enough space for the installation. If not enough space is available, clear the components that will not be used frequently.

3] Click 'OK'. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Microsoft Access dialog box reappears.)
d) Click 'OK'. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 - Maintenance dialog box reappears.)
12) Make sure that the desired installation folder for Access 7.0 is displayed in the 'Folder for Currently Selected Option' group.
13) (Optional) If the folder displayed for Access 7.0 is not the desired folder:
a) Click 'Change folder...'. (The Change Folder dialog box appears.)
b) In the 'Path' box, type the path and the name of the desired folder for Access 7.0.

c) Click 'OK' to close the 'Change Folder' dialog box.
NOTE: If the folder typed does not exist, the Setup program asks whether to create the new folder.
d) (Optional) Click 'OK' to have the Setup program create the new folder. (The Microsoft Office Professional 95 Setup - Maintenance dialog box reappears.)

16) Click 'OK' to exit the Setup program when the upgrade is complete.
